KIWISPORT - Shot Put - Dodgeball - T4W6 2017

Image result for kelly sports jump run throw
Today I will be blogging about what my class did for kiwi sports today. So this morning for kiwisports our first activity was dodgeball what the instructions were was to be put into 2 teams. After you are put into a team your go on one side and the other team goes to the other side.
 Then you wait until the instructor has told you what to do. So when he blows the whistle the game starts, what you have to do is to try and get as many balls in the middle of the field and try get someone out by throwing the ball to the other team so they can be out. This was a challenging activity because it was hard to dodge every ball that they would throw at you so they could win.

As that game was finished the instructor told us to out the dodgeball equipment away and to grab a mini ball to practise our Shot Put throws with a patterner. We probably did this for about 20 - 39 minutes.

 After the practising we had been given a heavier round ball that was 600gm, we had these balls because we were getting ready to throw them across to the other side of the field facing towards the hall. But lucky no one threw to far to break the glass.

What I found challenging was trying to throw the ball far but it was too heavy. I had a great time trying something new and giving it a go by not giving up on myself just to sit out, but I really enjoyed doing Shot Put with my peers.

About my Explanation Writing.

Image result for writingToday I will be blogging about what I will be writing for my explanation writing. Our topic for writing is 'A place of Whanaungatanga.'
My title is "Why do we build positive relationships at school?" I am working on my 2nd paragraph and leading onto my 3rd paragraph. One thing that was challenging was trying to figure out a title for my writing.
One of my main important thing was to figure out how to start off my writing so that I can improve on getting my writing skills on. I am really enjoying my topic of writing and I hope I improve on finishing it off this term some day.
THANK YOU FOR READING

😀☁✍😀☁✍😀☁✍😀☁✍😀☁✍😀☁✍😀☁✍😀☁
Today I learnt about what you need in order for an explanation writing. In the beginning you will need a clear title about what you are going to explain. Secondly you will need a introduction that will explain what you are going to talk about and how you will get the audience attention.
😀☁✍
Thirdly, you will need paragraphs to put in order, so the readers can understand the text clearly, then you will need to have a mix of language features, Pictures and also diagrams and Connective Words.
😀☁✍
Also you will need verbs and vocabulary to explain what it is about and what type of writing you are writing about. Lastly you will need a Conclusion to wrap up your wonderful and amazing explanation writing, so that everyone has a fun day to enjoy what they have learnt.
😀☁✍
I really appreciated that I have learnt this with all my effect to trying my best to give it a go with trying to get the answers correct.
I hope you learnt something as well as I have because I have learnt a new way of writing.
😀☁✍

Thank you, I am appreciated.

Maori Language Week - Assembly -

WALT: express the Maori Language with everyone.
Image result for MaoriFlag
Today at school we had a Maori Language Week assembly. At the assembly this morning it was to show each other what the meaning of the Maori Language is about and to share stories. Some of the performances were amazing with everyone singing together and joining in with the classes performances. What I really enjoyed about this Assembly was that the some of the Room 9 students joined in to sing with the younger students performances.

What I didn't like was that it was to loud that I couldn't hear the song that the teacher was singing.
My favorite song that Miss Kyla sang was her own song she made up which is about Matariki and the title of the song is called "Te wa o Matariki."
I really appreciated the way that our school joined in to sing and participate in the games that were played during the assembly.

Tai Chi - Wahine Toa & Maori Ora

Danny Gordon (Our Tai Chi Teacher, Left) Chen Xiao Wang (Grand Master, Right)
Today, I went to our 6th Tai Chi lesson and it was to practise a new strategy to complete our challenge for today. But I will tell later on. What our lesson was about is that we had to do our breathing movements, practise our horse stunts, tiger stunts and many more. What I learnt new was how to protect my heart from when another fighter tries and hits my chest. What I enjoyed from todays 3rd to last lesson was that I tried my best to keep my leg up high for the crane stunts. I was wobbling, but I enjoyed trying something new and different. So the power word for today is strategy, what it means about strategy is to have a plan before doing what you are going to do.
Our challenge was about how we would go across the hall without stepping out of the hoop on the ground and to tryfit your whole group to get across to the other side. It was challenging because everyone was too shy to go first or last. But I am glade that I achieved something which is getting included in games.
Todays lesson was on point it had me thinking, if I want to be a vet person who wants to take care of animals, how would I try and achieve this goal, what will I need to study?
I hope you enjoyed and have a great day, I had a lot of fun trying new things and I hope you try some of these stunts and breathing techniques.

Have I improved with my blogging?

Have I improved with my blogging?

I think I have. WHy do I think I have? I think I have because I have been adding more information and detail about what I am blogging about what I have been looking forward to and how could I achieve it. My blogging in the past was just 1 photo and 2 sentences of what I did. For example,

'Hi, here is my writing on sumdog and I have wrote a lot of words and when you finished the word you press space.'

What I know I improved on is my information giving more Ideas and more detail about what I know about what I am achieving. I know that I have done more than 2 sentences or less, and I know that adding just 1 picture I add enough for the readers to know what I am learning about.
What I needed to work on in the future is to get the reader to actually connect with what I feel about my work. I also need to ask questions about what they learnt and about what they enjoyed about what I learnt and I will always hope they learnt something new as well.

I really am happy that I have improved in my learning with my blogging. And I have really used hard work with adding more information. Have you improved your blogging?

Playing Cards - Maths

FAITHImage result for Playing cardsFaith (Right corner)
Today I will be blogging about what I played with the cards. Today I played the multiplication game, I played it with my friend Faith. You can visit her blog by clicking the link. Blog.

How we played the multiplication game was by using the Kings, Queens and Jacks as the elevens and twelves. And after that we started challenging each other by seeing who could get the right answer correct. So say that I was the dealer and I had to flip 2 cards and say it was a 2 and queen (11), so then it will be 2 x 11 = then we had to equal it and the answer will be 22 and if you get the answer before the other person then you get the cards that have been flip and then you repeat the same thing but with 2 other cards.
If it is a tie then we you have to leave it aside and do another question and if one of you got the answer then you get the cards aside and also the current cards that you just answered.
I really enjoyed doing this game and I learnt most of my times tables.
THANK YOU FOR READING. I hope you have a try at doing this multiplication game for learning.

Tongan Language Week

Yesterday was Tongan Language day and we celebrated it with a lot of families supporting, students dancing cultural
 and eating a lot of food making our stomachs full. It was like a festival. Some of the teachers from my school joined into danced with the students for the tongan performance. All the teachers from my school are different nationality. It was the best day ever because, all classes got to have a feed down stairs in the hall. All students and parents bought food that was tongan and filled up the whole hall with people and also food. When it was my class (Room 9) and room 10, there was hardly no more food but unless we ate.

Here are some photos:

Technology Reflection - Glass Work

Today at technology I am in a new group called Hard material, but what my group was working on was glass work.
What I did for glass work was practice how to cut glass with a glass cutter, what you have to do is use a wooden ruler and grab a piece of glass, use the smooth side so that you can cut a straight line so it can fit with all the other pieces that you have. How you hold the glass cutter is put the end of the glass cutter onto your palm and press down hard and scrap it down straight and when there is a straight line going down.
We had draw different designs of what we want to make out of glass. I choose a flower. I really enjoyed learning and also practicing how to cut glas.

I really focused on this poem because it really came to my mind and it made me write word by word for me to wonder, why my ancestors left me to be me?
I really hope you enjoy and catch feelings about your ancestors. KA KE TE, HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Kiwisport Reflection - T3W7 2017

WALT: combine different movements in our dance routine in a group.

Today I will be blogging about what we did for KiwiSport this week.
We had to practise in our groups and make up our own dance moves and try and make our dance longer than the other groups. It was a competition, in my group it was Helen (me), Metui and Alo. When it was our turn to show our performance I was nervous, but I participated and at the end of our performance our hip hop teacher Jazmine said that it was really good and that we made her dance as well. The topic was about freestyle.

What I enjoyed was that I got to learn a different dance move, also that I contributed in the performance and I got the hang of it. One thing I need to work on is to become more confident in showing my moves and sharing ideas with my peers. My negatives at KiwiSport was that there were people laughing at other students performance. I had a great time at Hip Hop class today and I hope we learn different dance moves next week. MANY THANKS.Image result for hip hop dances gifImage result for smurf dance gif hip hop

Times Tables - Maths Survivors

IALT: find an efficient way to solve my times tables.

Today I will be blogging about what I learnt during this week for maths. What I have been doing is learning my multiplication facts and trying to use a brainer way to figure it out to get the right answer.
One of the questions that my friend gave me was 111 x 111. A way I tried to figure it out was by doing this...
I think I have gotten it wrong but I will need to wait until I show my nana to check if I have it right because she is the master at maths in my family. I tried to figure this out by using an old way of doing the answers and I think I have done a good job.
I have enjoyed doing something different compared to what I normally do with my multiplication facts.
I hope you try and get the right answer down below in the comments and see if you got the right answer.
THANK YOU FOR READING.

Wahine Toa - Tai Chi - T3W5 2017

Today I will be blogging about what I did and what I learnt on Wednesday 23rd of August. THe groups that participate and contributes in this sport is the Wahine Toa group and the Maori Ora group.
What I learnt on Wednesday was learning different movements of Tai Chi, our teacher of the program was Mr Gordon.
He is a professional teacher and he has traveled to China to meet some real actual professional leaders of Tai Chi. When he was younger his father told him to do all the sports like literally all of them. (Soccer, Basketball, Rugby, League and many more) His life story is interesting, he tells us about what he has seen where he has been and also what kind of things/activities.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------List of the breathing movements:
* Drawing from the earth.
* Monkey washes face.
* Breath of the heart.
* Opening the channels.
* Full body breathing.
* Drawing from the sky.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stunts/Form:
* Horse Stunt.
* Tiger Form.
* Crane Form.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tiger Positions:
* Tiger Reverse.
* Tiger Form.
* Tiger protects heart.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I enjoy learning Tai Chi with Mr Gordon (Danny Gordon). He has telt us different movements. He also told us a word that we all didn't know what it meant and it was Random Acts Kindness which means what you did nice of someone randomly.

PB4L - Paying It Forward - T3W5 2017

IALT: explain the reasons why we should pay it forward.

Today I will be blogging about what I/we did for PB4L (Positive behaviour 4 learning). What I learnt or what I did was posting a comment onto our school class blog. The topic of the blog post was called "Paying It Forward" Our teacher Ms Komor showed us a video and it was about Paying it forward, the meaning of paying it forward I mean like helping each other and showing everyone a good example.
 I learnt that you don't have to look good to do good things because there are people that look bad but do the right thing around the community.
The reason why we should do it is because we can be positive to others to show how we feel about each other.

Click the link and watch the video yourself. And comment what you learnt and what you think.

CyberSmart - Advice - T3W3 2017

IALT: give advice for you to think before you post or research online.

Today I will be blogging about what advice I have for you. My advice for you is about thinking before you post online. The main thing of advice for you is think before you post, because it may not be what you are proud of and there could be information you do not want others to do.
What I learnt was it is important to check before you post it.
What I enjoyed was having my own ideas and advice to share with you all.
I had great fun doing this for you and I hope you enjoyed.
THANK YOU FOR READING MY ADVICE FOR YOU ALL!

KIWISPORT - HIPHOP - T3W3 2017

IALT: reflect on the movements during HipHop class.

Today I will be blogging about what I learnt or what I did at Kiwisport yesterday. What I learnt in the first place is that I learnt different dance moves which are the Smurf, Janet Jackson, James Brown and Alf.
WHat I enjoyed learning was doing the Alf because it looked classic and it look familiar to  different I dance move I like enjoying but I have no clue what it is could.

The main thing I need to work on is doing the actions confidently and never giving up to try hide behind the curtain.
What I think I achieved during Kiwisport is participating and contributing in the movements we were given.

I really hope you enjoyed my reflection about Kiwisport.
MANY THANKS.

Tivaevae - Cook Island Language Week - T3W2

WALT: about different types of patterns in the Cook Island culture.

For this task my class had reading buddies with Room 3 yesterday. What we were doing was we had to read a book and ask them questions about what happened during the time we were reading to them. After about 45 minutes later we were told to sit on the mat and have milk to drink. Then a while later my class was told to gt in 2 straight lines to go get our netbooks.
When we arrived back don stars to Room 3 we had to find our buddies and work on a google drawing to find different types of Tuvaevae's. What Tuvaevae's are is that they are a type of traditional cultural pattern. We had to to find different types of patterns. I had a lot of fun with my buddy and we communicated well.
Here is our google drawing.
I hope you enjoy. THANK YOU
