Today I will be blogging about what my class did for kiwi sports today. So this morning for kiwisports our first activity was dodgeball what the instructions were was to be put into 2 teams. After you are put into a team your go on one side and the other team goes to the other side.
Then you wait until the instructor has told you what to do. So when he blows the whistle the game starts, what you have to do is to try and get as many balls in the middle of the field and try get someone out by throwing the ball to the other team so they can be out. This was a challenging activity because it was hard to dodge every ball that they would throw at you so they could win.

As that game was finished the instructor told us to out the dodgeball equipment away and to grab a mini ball to practise our Shot Put throws with a patterner. We probably did this for about 20 - 39 minutes.

After the practising we had been given a heavier round ball that was 600gm, we had these balls because we were getting ready to throw them across to the other side of the field facing towards the hall. But lucky no one threw to far to break the glass.

What I found challenging was trying to throw the ball far but it was too heavy. I had a great time trying something new and giving it a go by not giving up on myself just to sit out, but I really enjoyed doing Shot Put with my peers.

  1. Hey there Helen, my name is Billy and I am from the Summer Learning Journey programme. We really hope that you will be blogging with us this summer and learning a bit about New Zealand's history.

It's great to read that you were able to play dodgeball and have a go at shot put. I liked reading that you were happy to give something new a go and persisting to do your best.

    Great stuff, keep it up!

    Billy
